More Information
  • This church puts on an annual festival billed as "The world's largest block party." It is, however, not the world's largest block party. It is not even the largest church block party in the Midwest, paling in comparison with the one put on by the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis. When we inquired about this discrepancy with the church we received a very rude and hostile e-mail from Father Thomas J. Hurley in response.
  • 1885: The church spire and onion dome were completed.
  • September, 2010: This building was named #40 on Chicago Magazine's list of the Top 40 Buildings in Chicago.
