Quick Facts
  • This was the home of architectural legend Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Interestingly, even though he designed several ground-breaking residential buildings nearby, he lived in a building that is the antitheses of the architectural style he perfected.
  • North Seneca Street, running past this building, was renamed in honor of its most famous resident, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The street is now North Mies van der Rohe Way.

Your Thoughts

There is one comment.

A confident, dignified early 20th Century luxury apartment house. The limestone accents at the corners and entrance nicely reflect the nearby Water Tower and pumping station. The exaggerated overhang of the cornice seems a bit quirky.
