Your Thoughts

There are two comments.

My relative Winfield Scott Thurber had an art gallery in the annex building. The interior was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. This was in the early 1900's. I have always wondered what happened to the interior when the gallery moved.

I have very fond memories of that building. In the 1930's my father, Ellis W. D'Arcy had a recording studio in the building. He closed it in 1940. His main business was recording music for WLS. Jimmy Petrillo made it impossible for musicians to make recordings for radio so he couldn't keep his business. There used to be a walkway over the alley between the front of the Fine Arts building and the annex. I used to take ballet lessons there when I was a little one.Jeanette neagu
