Ihave always enjoyed Mestrovic's work and had the opportunity of visiting his studio when we were in Europe. Iam however greatly dissapointed with the removal of the patina.If the patina was a detriment to the metal surface (as some had noted)than a more compatible patina could have been applied afterward.Iwould have rated it a five I now only rate it a one.Other sculptures have also been sandblasted and have (in my mind) been degraded.The people who have made these decisions should be removed from this responsibility.
