Related Web Sites: Discuss the architecture of 250 South Wacker and other buildings in Chicago. Kevin Antene - Friday, July 27th, 2007 @ 6:35pm • Rating: Five stars.Starting in early 2006, 250 South Wacker underwent more than $25 million in renovations to update or replace all major building systems. The building was stripped to its bare essentials and the existing structure that remained was fully re-skinned. An innovative, energy-efficient HVAC system called the “Chill Beam System” was installed throughout the building. Combined with the installation of Low-e glass, 250 South Wacker has become an exemplar of next generation “green” building design.
