  It is devasating that this structure will not remain a functioning department store. THAT is it's "mission in life". I'm sure Louis Sullivan is rolling over in his grave. Carson Pirie Scott & Co. building should have been preserved. It could have been scaled down to a few floors. I am an out of towner, who loves the City of Chicago AND Carson Pirie Scott. My future trips will be "null & void", without a venture into my Carson's. I video taped the exterior & interior on my last trip, during fixture sale. At least, "in this way", I can STILL visit Carson Pirie Scott & Co. I will miss you immensely CPS...
